Berkshire Hathaway stock hits 8-month high, analysts list it as "top long-term hold"
The analyst pointed out that Berkshire Hathaway held a substantial cash reserve of $397 billion at the end of Q2 2026, accounting for 59% of its investable assets. Furthermore, the company resumed stock buybacks after a 21-month hiatus, with an estimated $5 billion to $11 billion in buybacks during Q2. New CEO Greg Abel personally purchased $15 million worth of Berkshire stock and committed to repeat purchases annually. The company's operating profit for Q1 2026 increased by 18% to $11.35 billion, and net profit doubled to $10.1 billion, demonstrating strong operational performance.
