Despite some goods returning to the Gaza market after Israel lifted the blockade, local residents still face severe economic hardship and struggle to afford food. Due to ongoing shortages and transportation costs, prices remain high, while most residents have exhausted their savings and lost their jobs. The World Food Programme noted that although the volume of commercial and humanitarian goods entering has increased in the past two months, the number of families unable to afford goods from the market due to lack of purchasing power is also rising. Palestinian economic experts point out that the biggest challenge facing Gaza's economy is a shortage of cash liquidity, as thousands of families have lost their jobs and savings due to the war, leading to a significant decline in purchasing power. Economic recovery requires creating more income and employment opportunities.
