The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and the Overseas Chinese Association in Bangladesh (OCAB) have partnered to establish a business matchmaking platform. This initiative aims to attract Chinese investment into Bangladesh's Ready-Made Garment (RMG) sector, facilitate partnerships, promote the reopening of struggling factories, and attract investment into upstream industries. The partnership follows a meeting on August 4th, where Chinese representatives expressed interest but highlighted challenges due to a lack of accessible information about local business opportunities. BGMEA will now collect detailed factory information to facilitate targeted introductions for interested Chinese investors.
