Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) on Wednesday demanded Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick explain the Trump administration's July decision to ease export controls on the United Arab Emirates. This inquiry follows reports that UAE-linked entities, including those tied to national security advisor Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, invested $500 million in the Trump family-affiliated World Liberty Financial. Warren also highlighted that MGX, linked to Sheikh Tahnoon, used World Liberty's USD1 stablecoin for a $2 billion investment in Binance. Warren has requested the Commerce Department's national-security analysis and called for Lutnick to testify before Congress, citing concerns about potential influence on national security and the timing of the decision.
