Meta officially launched its first AI programming agent, Muse Code, on August 5th, aiming to challenge competitors like Anthropic and OpenAI. Led by Meta AI head Alexandr Wang, this product is designed to handle complete software engineering tasks, including planning changes, writing code, and verifying results. Muse Code is currently available as a preview, running on Meta's latest AI model, Muse Spark 1.2. Its pay-as-you-go tier costs $1.25 per million input tokens and $4.25 per million output tokens. There is also a "Contributor Tier" where users can enjoy a price of just $0.20 per million output tokens if they agree to provide feedback. The product primarily targets the enterprise developer market and promises a zero data retention option.
