The North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) approved the extension for the P2170 'Verbier' licence on the UK Continental Shelf, bringing its schedule in line with the company's P2498 'Buchan Horst' licence within the Greater Buchan Area (GBA). Jersey Oil & Gas stated that aligning the durations supports the authorities' drive for an integrated Area Plan. The company noted that industry uncertainty driven by policy shifts from successive UK governments had slowed progress on the Buchan project, prompting a broader review of development options. Jersey Oil & Gas CEO Andrew Benitz urged the government to work constructively with the industry on development approvals and end the Energy Profits Levy, which has slowed investment.
