Samsung HBM4 Yield Reaches 80% Four Months Ahead of Schedule, Q3 Sales Target Triples Quarter-on-Quarter, Accelerating Supply to NVIDIA AI Accelerators
Samsung Electronics' sixth-generation high-bandwidth memory (HBM4) mass production yield has approached 80%, achieving its annual target approximately four months ahead of schedule, with the original year-end target set at 80%. This breakthrough will enable Samsung to accelerate its supply pace. The company has decided to more than triple its HBM4 sales in the third quarter compared to the previous quarter and plans to increase HBM4's share of overall HBM sales in the second half of the year to over 60%. Concurrently, Samsung has set a longer-term goal to raise its HBM market share to a level similar to its DRAM market share (approximately 38%) by year-end, aiming to provide more ample memory chip supply for the production of NVIDIA's AI accelerator "Vera Rubin."
