Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy announced that due to ongoing Ukrainian drone attacks on Russia's Black Sea port of Novorossiysk, which threaten its crude oil shipments, Kazakhstan is seeking to divert some of its crude oil exports from Black Sea terminals. It is considering transportation through pipeline systems in Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey, such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan system, Caspian transportation via Azerbaijan, and the Baku-Supsa route. Additionally, Kazakhstan is working to increase eastward supplies to China via pipelines. Recently, Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian oil export infrastructure have severely disrupted Kazakhstan's crude oil exports. In July alone, flows through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) were halted three times, with the most recent week-long shutdown temporarily taking over 1 million barrels per day of Kazakh crude oil production off the market, exacerbating global oil supply risks.
