Russian Court Bars Only Anti-War Party Yabloko from Standing in Next Month's Parliamentary Elections
A Moscow court ruled that Yabloko, Russia's only registered party to openly oppose the war in Ukraine, will not be allowed to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections. The case against Yabloko was brought by the pro-Kremlin nationalist party Rodina, which accused Yabloko of publicly supporting an extremist organization and copyright infringement. Russia's financial monitoring service also claimed Yabloko received foreign funding through third parties. Yabloko had campaigned under the slogan "For peace and freedom! For a life without fear!" and advocated for a ceasefire, diplomacy, and peace.
