South Korea's FSC to Implement Stricter Investor Protection for Single-Stock Leveraged Products from August 19
South Korea's Financial Services Commission (FSC) announced that new measures will take effect on August 19 to enhance investor protection for single-stock leveraged products. These include strengthening securities firms' premium/discount rate management duty, reducing the acceptable disparity from 3% to 2% for domestically listed products and from 6% to 5% for overseas listed products. Additionally, retail investors will be required to complete a mock trading session, have a minimum deposit of KRW30 million, and undergo three hours of prior learning sessions before investing in these products.
