According to Korean media reports on August 12, Samsung Electronics' System LSI division opened Anthropic's Claude Code to software developers in May this year. Just about three months later, AI has achieved significant results on the development front, with a custom SoC functional verification task that was originally expected to take over a month being completed in two days. In addition, a two-year experienced engineer, with the help of Claude Code, completed a USB model development that usually takes a month in just one day. Samsung hopes to use AI to compress repetitive development, verification, and specification learning times to cope with the pressure of SoC business losses and improve R&D efficiency.
