Intuitive Surgical (ISRG) stock is down 33% year-to-date in 2026, but Baron Health Care Fund remains bullish on its long-term growth prospects.
The fund noted that despite competitive concerns from China and AI, as well as macro headwinds from potentially declining healthcare utilization, Intuitive Surgical, with its large installed base of over 12,000 robotic surgical systems and recurring revenue accounting for approximately 75% of total revenue, is expected to achieve mid-to-high double-digit revenue growth for many years to come. Its current forward P/E ratio is 35x, significantly lower than its five-year average of nearly 54x, and Wall Street analysts generally have a "buy" rating.
