Reuters: Five Tech Giants Including Microsoft and Meta Pledge Approximately $1.09 Trillion in Future Lease Payments for AI Data Centers; Meta's Total Rises to About $1.16 Trillion After Signing Another $68 Billion in July
Reuters reported that the five major tech giants, Microsoft, Meta, Oracle, Amazon, and Google, have committed to paying approximately $1.09 trillion in future lease payments, primarily for AI data centers that are not yet operational. Microsoft's commitment is the highest, at $329.1 billion. Meta signed new data center lease agreements worth $68 billion in July, bringing the total known commitments for these five companies to approximately $1.16 trillion.
