Tether announced on August 13, 2026, that KPMG U.S. has successfully completed the audit of the financial statements of its subsidiary, Tether International, S.A. de C.V., for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2025. KPMG issued an unqualified opinion, which is the most positive form of opinion an independent auditor can issue, indicating that the financial statements present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position, results of operations, and cash flows of the company. Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, stated that this audit sets a new standard for the stablecoin industry and demonstrates the company's ability to withstand the most rigorous scrutiny. The audit report shows that Tether's reserves exceeded its liabilities by $6.814 billion.
