Donald Trump's son-in-law Kushner to visit Israel, Egypt next week after Netanyahu rejected Gaza peace plan
Jared Kushner, former US President Donald Trump's son-in-law and aide, plans to visit Israel and Egypt next week to support a US-backed peace plan aimed at permanently ending Israel's war in Gaza. The visit comes as Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu rejected a 15-point peace plan backed by Donald Trump, which included the gradual disarmament of Hamas and the transfer of weapons to a Palestinian third party, while Israel withdrew from Gaza. Hamas had previously agreed to an initial version of the deal and stated its continued commitment after Israel's rejection. Kushner will travel with Nikola Mladenov, Director-General of the "Peace Committee," and Tony Blair, a member of the Executive Committee, with the aim of hearing concerns from all parties and discussing next steps.
