Reuters reported on August 7 that Adobe Analytics data showed 41% of U.S. consumers used generative AI for online shopping in June. Visitors driven by AI services generated 41% more revenue per visit than traditional channels. Ulta Beauty (ULTA) stated that shoppers driven by Google Gemini and ChatGPT had approximately twice the conversion rate and purchase intent compared to other channels. OpenAI stopped its standalone instant checkout tool in March, shifting its focus to product discovery, with merchants handling the checkout process themselves. Etsy (ETSY) said shoppers can discover products through ChatGPT but usually return to Etsy to complete transactions.
