Micron Technology Unveils $10 Billion AI Memory Research Lab in Boise to Advance Memory Technologies Over Next Decade
The Micron Research Labs, headquartered in Boise, Idaho, is described as the first dedicated memory research hub of its kind in the United States. The company plans to begin construction on the Boise facility in 2027, with the finished campus designed to accommodate hundreds of researchers. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang and Apple CEO Tim Cook, among others, have issued statements in support of the initiative. This new investment is separate from Micron's previously announced commitment to spend over $250 billion on manufacturing and R&D across the U.S.
