Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff, Asim Munir, arrived in Tehran on Monday for talks with senior Iranian officials. This marks his third visit to Iran this year, aimed at advancing mediation efforts to end the conflict between the United States and Iran. The visit comes as the 60-day window set by the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, signed by the US and Iran, has passed, and as the US prepares to impose a new round of sanctions on Iran. Iran's Foreign Ministry stated that the visit will help "strengthen regional peace and security."
