GE Vernova will provide power conversion, plant control, system integration, and grid connection support technology for the third phase of the Supernode Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Queensland, Australia, expanding its involvement to all three phases of the project. The third phase will add 260MW and 1.22GWh of storage capacity, bringing the Supernode campus's total capacity to 780MW and 3.08GWh. Quinbrook, the project developer, has confirmed that the third phase recently received generator performance standards acceptance, a critical step for grid connection. Previously, Quinbrook and CATL completed commercial operations for the second phase and secured AUD 469 million (approximately USD 332.9 million) in funding for the financial close of the third phase.
