XPeng Motors announced on Monday that its robotics unit has raised over $900 million in its Series A funding round, setting a new record for the largest single private financing in China's embodied AI sector. This round was led by IDG Capital, with strategic investors such as Tencent and Alibaba supporting it, valuing the robotics business at over $6.3 billion. XPeng plans to mass-produce its humanoid robot, Xpeng IRON, by the end of this year and begin commercial sales and deliveries in China and overseas markets in 2027.
