Amazon CEO Andy Jassy previously stated that Amazon Web Services (AWS) could achieve annual revenues of hundreds of billions of dollars. During the latest Amazon earnings call, he revised this estimate, stating that the company now believes AWS's annual revenue could eventually surpass $1 trillion. Analysts point out that with the surge in AI spending and the continued shift of traditional IT spending to the cloud, AWS's average annual revenue growth rate is expected to reach 20% over the next decade, which would bring its Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) to $1 trillion by early 2036. AWS's ARR reached $169 billion last quarter, with sales growing 37% year-over-year, its fastest growth rate since 2021.
