ShardLab, the fintech investment arm of investment firm Hashed, will establish a joint venture with StoreHub following this investment. The joint venture will focus on developing new consumer payment and reward experiences for merchants and customers in Southeast Asia. StoreHub is a Kuala Lumpur-based commerce and payment platform operating in Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Japan, processing over 200 million transactions annually with a total value of nearly $3.5 billion. Both parties stated that Southeast Asia is the priority market for this collaboration, with plans to test new models before scaling up.
