Yahoo Finance analysis indicates that in an environment of "long-term high interest rates," the Schwab U.S. Dividend Equity ETF (SCHD) has significantly outperformed the Vanguard Real Estate ETF (VNQ). The analysis suggests that SCHD invests in high-quality dividend stocks, while VNQ primarily invests in Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), which are penalized in a high-interest-rate environment. Since August 2021, SCHD has delivered a 63% return, whereas VNQ has only risen by 13% over the same period. Year-to-date, SCHD and VNQ have seen gains of 30.5% and 14.2%, respectively.
