Australia's second-largest pension fund makes its biggest bet on yen strength in years
Australian Retirement Trust, which manages about A$370 billion ($265 billion) in savings, has built its largest overweight position in the Japanese yen in years. The fund is betting that markets are underpricing future Bank of Japan interest rate hikes, having spent the past six months adding to the trade as the yen weakened towards 160 per dollar, partly by trimming its exposure to the greenback.
