Revolut Launches Euro-Pegged Stablecoin EURR, Issued by an Institution Under a Stripe Subsidiary
Fintech company Revolut has launched its euro-pegged stablecoin, EURR, designed to maintain a stable value of 1 euro. The stablecoin is issued by Bridge Building, a MiCA-registered crypto-asset service provider under Stripe's stablecoin infrastructure subsidiary, and is offered through Revolut Digital Assets Europe. EURR will be rolled out in phases starting this month, initially available to eligible customers in Denmark, Poland, and Portugal, with plans to expand to other European Economic Area markets later this year. Revolut stated that EURR provides customers with a euro-denominated alternative, avoiding exposure to the US dollar.
