Radosław Piesiewicz, president of the Polish Olympic Committee, was arrested as prosecutors investigate allegations that Zondacrypto CEO Przemysław Kral gave him a 40,000 euro watch and other gifts. The alleged bribe was in return for help with the crypto exchange's regulatory issues in Poland. Piesiewicz denies receiving the watch as a gift, claiming he paid for it in cash. Zondacrypto became the Olympic committee’s general sponsor in October under an agreement covering 2026 through 2028. The broader investigation, which opened in April, also covers suspected fraud and money laundering at Zondacrypto, including about 4,500 lost Bitcoin and estimated customer losses of at least 350 million zlotys ($94 million).
