Anthropic IPO Process Accelerates: Plans to Allow Early Shareholders to Cash Out and Extend Lock-up Period; Prospectus Expected After US Labor Day on September 7, with Listing as Early as Late September
AI startup Anthropic is considering allowing existing shareholders to sell some shares in its IPO, while also exploring a lock-up period exceeding 180 days to balance the monetization needs of early investors and employees with post-listing share price stability, according to a report by tech media The Information on Wednesday ET. The company plans to publicly disclose its prospectus after Labor Day (September 7) and hold an investor day in mid-September, targeting a listing window in late September or early October. Data from prediction market Polymarket shows that the market currently believes the probability of Anthropic completing its IPO before October has risen to 86%. Previously, market consensus anticipated Anthropic's listing valuation could reach around $1 trillion, with some bankers even discussing valuations between $1.5 trillion and $2 trillion.
