Six Bitcoin wallets dormant for 10+ years moved 553.59 BTC (approx. $40 million) between August 16-26, with most avoiding exchanges
The six wallets, last active between 2011 and 2014, transferred their holdings, including one that had been untouched for over 15 years. Five of these wallets sent their Bitcoin to addresses without known exchange links, while one moved 40 BTC to German crypto provider Boerse Stuttgart Digital. This activity comes as overall dormant Bitcoin movement (coins untouched for at least a year) fell in Q2 to its lowest level since Q3 2022, according to Galaxy Research, which projects 2026's total dormant coin movement to be less than half of last year's.
