Following Samsung, TSMC is expected to fully raise its foundry prices for all processes by 10% to 15% in response to strong demand for AI chips.
Market expectations suggest that TSMC will fully follow Samsung Electronics' lead, planning to implement a 10% to 15% price hike across all its process nodes. Previously, TSMC had already raised prices by up to 15% for its 3-nanometer (N3) process, which was in short supply in the second half of the year, in mid-year. By early 2027 at the latest, TSMC also plans to further increase prices for advanced processes such as N2, N3, and N5 by 5% to 10%, while mature process chips will also see a compensatory increase of up to 10%. This move is primarily driven by strong demand for AI chips and tight production capacity, with its N2 and N3 process chips fully booked by customers such as Apple and NVIDIA. Wall Street institutions generally have a positive outlook on TSMC's earnings prospects and have significantly raised its target price, with some seeing it as high as NT$4,200.
