Edelson PC filed 30 new lawsuits against OpenAI in a California court this Tuesday, accusing the company of responsibility for the mass shooting in Tumbler Ridge, Canada, on February 10. These new lawsuits escalate the accusations for the first time to "aiding and abetting" a mass shooting, rather than merely "negligence in failing to prevent" as in previous claims. The lawsuits also name OpenAI's Chief Global Affairs Officer, Chris Lehane, for the first time, alleging he instructed employees not to contact law enforcement. However, OpenAI denies its involvement, and the plaintiffs have not yet provided direct evidence.
