Google CEO Pichai's promised Gemini 3.5 Pro AI model remains undelivered, contributing to Alphabet shares falling nearly 6% this month
Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOG, NASDAQ:GOOGL) shares closed at $335.02 on September 1, down 5.93% over the past month, as CEO Sundar Pichai's promised flagship AI model, Gemini 3.5 Pro, has yet to be released. This comes despite Google Cloud revenue growing 82% to $24.77 billion in Q2. However, the company's capital expenditure hit $44.9 billion, free cash flow turned negative at -$5.86 billion, and stock buybacks were suspended. Analysts maintain 58 buy ratings with a $428 price target, noting Alphabet trades cheaper than Microsoft, Meta, and Amazon.
