Kazera Global has received formal approval for a ten-year mining right for its heavy mineral sands assets in the Sea Concession 2A area of South Africa's Northern Cape province. The concession covers approximately 3,095 hectares and grants the company exclusive rights to mine garnet, monazite, zircon, rutile, titanium-rich leucoxene, and other heavy minerals. Under existing agreements, Kazera's wholly-owned subsidiary, Whale Head Minerals, will receive a payment of $1.75 million (28.13 million rand) from strategic partner South Africa AT Investments (SAI) upon the formal execution of the mining right. Kazera stated that the mine aims for commercial production in Q1 2027 and expects to increase concentrate output to at least 10,000 tonnes per month by Q2 of the same year. A technical report published in August 2026 indicated an inferred mineral resource of approximately 1.31 million tonnes of economic heavy minerals within the concession area, with an estimated in-situ value of $369.3 million.
