The U.S. will impose tariffs of up to 100% on drones and certain components starting Thursday, citing national security threats and aiming to boost domestic supply chains.
US President Donald Trump signed an executive order in August to address national security threats posed by drone imports and boost domestic supply chains. Drones weighing over 25 kilograms, equipped with thermal imaging capabilities and docking stations, will face a 100% tariff, while smaller drones will be subject to a 25% tariff. China's Ministry of Commerce expressed strong opposition, stating that this move would disrupt the global drone supply chain and harm fair competition.
