Bitcoin rises to $77,892.97 and Ethereum to $2,402.09 on Thursday morning, despite rising oil prices
Bitcoin opened at $77,310.77 (down 0.1% from Wednesday's open) and Ethereum at $2,391.30 (down 1.1% from Wednesday's open, marking its lowest in about two weeks). Both cryptocurrencies moved higher by 7:19 a.m. ET, driven by hopes that U.S. airstrikes against Iranian targets will be short-lived and that the recent surge in Brent crude oil prices (now over $96 a barrel) will quickly fade.
