Global sales of China-made vehicles, including exports, fell 5.1% year-on-year to 2.712 million units in August 2026, according to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). Domestic sales plummeted 24% to 1.702 million units, while exports surged 65% to 1.01 million units. Total sales of light-duty passenger vehicles decreased by 6.2%, and commercial vehicle sales increased by 4.1%. For the first eight months of the year, cumulative sales of China-made vehicles declined by 3.8%.
