This comes after the US House of Representatives on Wednesday passed a bill authorizing President Trump to impose tariffs of up to 100% on countries, including India, to reduce their dependence on Russian oil and gas. The bill, which targets Russia's energy and defense sectors, has been sent to Trump for signing into law. India is the world's third-biggest oil importer and a major buyer of Russian oil.
