Anthropic's coding assistant, Claude Code, officially launched a major upgrade to its Projects feature on September 17, elevating AI-assisted development from a single-conversation mode to a multi-threaded automated workflow. This feature allows Claude to break down tasks, assign threads, and advance them in parallel. The company states that these threads will continue to work even after users close their laptops, marking a substantial step forward for AI programming tools towards autonomous project management. Projects is currently available in beta to select Claude Pro and Max subscribers, with access gradually expanding over the coming weeks to eventually cover Team and Enterprise plan users.
