Google launches the $899 AI laptop, Googlebook, with deep Gemini integration and open for pre-orders.
Google announced on Monday that its AI laptop is now available for pre-order, priced at $899. The Googlebook deeply integrates Gemini's AI capabilities, including an AI-powered cursor, Smart Dictation (Rambler), and Vibe-coding widgets. The device will be available in the United States on October 4, followed by Canada, the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, and Australia on October 5. Google's move aims to attract users to purchase new laptops through AI, with plans to replace Chromebooks in the future to capture the K-12 education market. A 12-month Google AI Pro subscription service will be included with the purchase of a Googlebook.
