XRP Ledger (XRPL) validators have approved the conditional activation path for the BatchV1_1 amendment, which aims to fix a previously disclosed signer vulnerability. The vulnerability was discovered in February, but XRPL Labs stated that it did not pose a risk to funds. The activation date for the new amendment is set for September 29, 14:06:41 UTC, at which point production testing will be conducted on the network amendment process and related software. Although the protocol-level vulnerability has been fixed, client applications (such as wallets and browsers) still face risks and need to ensure they correctly handle the new batch transaction pattern to avoid false positives or fragmented transaction results.
