Bullish, Alpaca, Apex Fintech and others form 'Issuer Sponsored Token Coalition' to link tokenized shares to official shareholder records
The Issuer Sponsored Token Coalition, unveiled on Thursday, aims to build standards for tokenized securities that remain directly tied to the issuing companies' official shareholder registers. This initiative follows last week's U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) exemption allowing limited onchain trading of U.S.-listed equities under certain conditions. The group plans to work on technical standards, settlement, custody, and ways to move securities between traditional market infrastructure and blockchain networks, with the goal of preserving shareholder rights like voting and dividends.
