Tesla has officially commenced mass production of its heavy-duty electric truck, the Semi, with the first customer deliveries taking place this Thursday evening ET at its dedicated factory in Nevada. The factory aims for an annual production capacity of 50,000 units, equivalent to 1,000 vehicles per week.

The Semi features several technical upgrades, including a 500-mile range when fully loaded (up to 600 miles with a light load), energy consumption reduced by approximately 15% from the original design target to 1,700 Wh/mile, and the adoption of in-house developed 4680 battery cells. Tesla is simultaneously building out its Megacharger network, with plans to establish over 30 charging stations (more than 200 megawatt-level charging stalls) by year-end. Musk stated that the Semi has a "significant waiting list," with companies such as PepsiCo, DHL, and Einride already on the client roster.
