Manchester City Football Club has reportedly been found guilty of all but one of the 115 financial rule breaches alleged by the Premier League, according to Al Jazeera. Former FA chairman David Bernstein stated that Manchester City could face "severe sanctions," emphasizing that monetary penalties alone would not suffice and more "drastic" measures are needed. Manchester City has consistently and vehemently denied the charges, stating they would appeal if the allegations are upheld. The Premier League brought charges against Manchester City in 2023, concerning alleged failures to provide accurate financial information, details of player and manager remuneration, and breaches of financial sustainability rules between 2009 and 2018. An independent commission hearing began in September 2024. If the ruling is confirmed, sanctions could include significant point deductions or even expulsion from the Premier League.
