Cosmos intercepts 1.23 million stolen ATOM, but refunds await governance vote
On Sept. 22, an attacker moved approximately 1.73 million stolen ATOM from Neutron to the Cosmos Hub. Cosmos Hub validators secured 1,227,121.37 ATOM through an emergency software patch on Sept. 23. However, the six multisig signers holding the funds stated that a separate Hub governance proposal must pass to authorize the release of these funds to affected users and protocols, according to a Sept. 25 account from Cosmos Labs.
