U.S. equity futures fell sharply in early European trading, while the sell-off in U.S. Treasuries intensified. Market sentiment was pressured by key inflation and employment data due to be released this week. A fresh surge in oil prices on Monday exacerbated inflation concerns, reinforcing expectations that the Federal Reserve will further tighten policy, pushing Treasury yields to multi-year highs. Specifically, the 10-year Treasury yield rose 4.9 basis points to 5.214%, the 30-year Treasury yield increased 2.2 basis points to 5.518%, and the 2-year Treasury yield also climbed to around 4.920%. The market currently anticipates a more than 70% probability of the Federal Reserve raising interest rates by 25 basis points next month.
