Financial Secretary Paul Chan on Monday attended the 11th annual meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in Doha, stating that Hong Kong would continue to support the AIIB in assisting members with infrastructure project preparation and financing. He also delivered a keynote address on digital public infrastructure, citing Hong Kong's iAM Smart platform and Faster Payment System as examples.
On the sidelines, Chan met with Uzbekistan's Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, encouraging Uzbek enterprises to utilize Hong Kong's international financing platform, including listing opportunities for exchange-traded products and real estate investment trusts. He also met with Qatar Development Bank CEO Abdulrahman Hesham Al-Sowaidi to explore joint efforts in promoting bilateral trade, supporting start-ups, and strengthening venture capital cooperation.
