Jev Founder Diogo Almeida: AI Coding Tools Haven't Improved Software, Jev Reverses "Software Extinction Theory" by Embedding Intelligence
Diogo Almeida, founder of TypeSafe, stated on the a16z podcast that existing AI programming tools only increase coding speed, but the software itself has not improved. He believes that AI and software "going their separate ways" is the root cause of the current AI dilemma. He introduced his company's AI decision model, Jev, a new programming primitive that embeds intelligence directly into software, enabling programs to understand intent and make probabilistic decisions, with "extreme reliability" at its core. Diogo believes that SaaS companies will be among the biggest beneficiaries of the AI wave, and the "software extinction theory" will be reversed.
