Wallstreetcn.com reports that private equity giants such as Blackstone, KKR, Apollo, and Brookfield are heavily investing in off-grid power solutions to address the power bottleneck of AI data centers and bypass lengthy grid construction cycles. Specifically, an investment consortium led by Blackstone, with KKR and Apollo participating, has reached an agreement with pipeline giant Williams Companies to acquire a 49% stake in five natural gas power projects under development for $5.3 billion. These projects are dedicated to providing off-grid power to data centers. Additionally, Blackstone and Halliburton have jointly injected $1 billion in equity investment into VoltaGrid, while Brookfield Asset Management will provide up to $25 billion in financing for Bloom Energy's AI data center power projects. Oaktree Capital has also jointly invested $1.7 billion to install Bloom fuel cells in Nebius data centers.
