India has finalized sweeping new fuel-efficiency rules that will require automakers to cut emissions across their fleets from 2027. The policy offers flexibility, allowing manufacturers to utilize electric vehicles, hybrids, and more efficient gasoline-powered cars to meet the targets, and also adds carbon credit trading.
