According to CNBC, traders on Kalshi have increased the probability of AI company Anthropic announcing an initial public offering (IPO) this year. This follows reports that Anthropic warned investors in its IPO prospectus that its AI models could be dangerous, even posing "catastrophic or existential risks." Kalshi data shows that the probability of Anthropic announcing an IPO before November jumped from 4.7% on September 28 to 16% by Wednesday afternoon, while the probability of an IPO announcement within this year is close to 80%. Anthropic confidentially filed its IPO prospectus in June, targeting a valuation exceeding $2 trillion, and plans to invest over $500 billion in cloud computing and other infrastructure over the next year.
