South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced preliminary data on October 1, showing that exports in September surged by 83.5% year-on-year to $120.94 billion, marking the first time monthly exports have exceeded the $120 billion mark. The growth rate further accelerated from August and significantly surpassed market expectations. Concurrently, the trade surplus reached $49.85 billion, setting a new historical record. For the first nine months of this year, cumulative exports have reached $814.5 billion, surpassing last year's full-year record, with annual exports projected to exceed $1 trillion for the first time.
